  1. Wow, that's as a good an image of the Elephant Trunk as I've seen for a while. The cropped image has an almost 3D feel and I love the mono image 👍
  2. The glass tube that surrounded a signal plate had a 1-inch diameter, although the photosensitive area of the tube was only about 0.63" in diameter – or around 16mm I failed to read this in Vlaiv's earlier reply, In TVs they only count the actual screen size, so yes it does seem strange. and misleading.
  3. It's like TVs, they are measured diagonally too. They might advertise a 60" tv but is only something like 52" wide and 29" high.
  4. And here I was suffering with aperture fever but seeing the size of that VX14 it seems to have cured it for now....................................
  5. I really like that Goran, super colours and a myriad of stars. Is that open cluster just behind Nessie NGC 6802? Actually Nessie looks more like a Brachiosaurus to me
  6. Great sketches, the detail you've got in the ring nebula is amazing.
  7. I've not seen these Mova globes before, they look stunning.
  8. Here's one by Ags, one of our SGL members, which I'd highly recommend.
  9. That's really nice, I really like the star colour 👍
  10. Great images and video Paul 👍 Quite inspiring, it makes me want to get out and have a go myself.
  11. I think I prefer the first one, I really like the colours in that one. The other two are great though 👍
  12. But will it perform as well on Earth........................................ 😉
  13. That's really nice, although to be honest, I found that the foreground stars draw my attention away from what is a super galaxy image. Even so it is a great image.
  14. I love double stars, pity they aren't imaged very often 👍
  15. That's really good, love the colour and in the hi res there are loads of faint galaxies 👍
  16. Sorry to hear that Michael, hopefully it won't get so bad that you have to give up and if it does I hope it will be many years away. I know what you mean about switching eyes. I have always used my right eye and a while back I got a new, rather large, floater in my right eye. It was really bothering me when I was observing (probably because it was new) so I swapped eyes and I was surprised by how difficult it was to observe with the 'wrong' eye.
  17. Unfortunately I think you've hit the nail on the head there.
  18. You've made a good job of that. It is always good to see an image of one of my favourite galaxies. Really nice star colour and there are lots of faint fuzzies hiding away in the background too.
  19. I'm no expert but that looks really good to me.
