  1. I have viewed/ imaged Venus many times during the day. It is a great time to do it, although Venus is not going to be getting as high it did a couple of years back, still well worth it.
  2. A great idea, definitely where all the best action is on the Moon.
  3. Never hurt myself doing Astronomy, but my wallet has taken an absolute pounding 🙂
  4. yes, i use the term drift. I use the mount drives in reality to move the disc. My Asi174 almost covers the full disc anyway. its not a great method really, i thought it would be a quick way of capturing a low res full disc.
  5. Still waiting for Jupiter to clear the nearby conifers, had a fleeting view of Saturn for about 15mins ealier though 🙂
  6. Thats an excellent resource, thanks for sharing. Is it the android app? Seeing is pretty poor here at the moment, clear but very wobbly!
  7. Io Moon and shadow transit tonight, should visible from around from around 7pm for the IO and 8pm for shadow. Not sure if the source i have started to use is 100% accurate, i miss CalSky !
  8. Yes 10-15 degrees, i think. I will try it when it moves in to the gap between the trees, it is pretty much hidden for me at the moment.
  9. Lunt 50th Solar scope and asi290mm. If i am pushed for time, which is quite common as the Sun gets lower at this time of the year. I select the biggest ROI of interest i can and position the disc, at the bottom of it, then i drift the disc slowly across the ROI to allow a full disc capture in one go. When stacking in A/S3 i selected the expand as needed box to hopefully create a full disc. It works everytime with the white light images.
  10. Lovely, the phase is showing very nicely Reggie.
  11. Very nicely captured, plenty of details visible there.
  12. Forgot to say they are of Jupiter, it will be interesting to see the results.
  13. I have upload a couple TIFF's from the 24th Sept 2021-09-24-2136_6-RGB-Jup_lapl7_ap261.tif2021-09-24-2144_4-RGB-Jup_lapl7_ap261.tif
  14. Great start, nothing pathetic about that at all. Registax 6 is a good choice for sharpening and RGB balance.
  15. Some really nice detail there Trevor.
  16. Both full disc captures using a drift method, which involves allowing the disc slowly to drift across the chip. Then when stacking in A/S3 expanding the image to allow for this drift. Unfortunately i can not always get the H/A image to stack correctly. The white always seems to work though.
  17. Very nice, good to see such a lovely filament again.
  18. very nice captured, some nice proms visible there.
  19. Superb images, love the movement on the filament its fascinating to watch.
  20. Hi welcome to SGL from Pete in Bedfordshire🙂
