  1. Turns out Sgpro only pauses the guiding during autofocus when a sequence is running. It won't pause if you run autofocus manually. http://forum.mainsequencesoftware.com/t/pausing-auto-focus-af-in-phd2-during-manual-af/6036
  2. That's very nice and dusty. The way the Iris should be.
  3. Very nice peter. You always present us with some very interesting images.
  4. Some lovely detail in the nebula.
  5. Well that's a very striking image, great colour and detail. Have you given up on the A7s?
  6. Beautiful image. Great combination of fast optics, osc and dark skies.
  7. Very nice Olly. Nice and smooth and without the waxy look of noise reduction. 22 hrs of lum must be a joy to process.
  8. This is an image that i planned on making a two pane mosaic and getting heaps more data, but because i sold the Epsilon i thought i would post the results. This was caught while it was a little low in the sky and the background suffers as a result but i'm very happy with detail in the nebula itself. If i get a chance i reckon the addition of Ha could bring this life. A cloud of interstellar gas that reflects light from Rigel the nearby supergiant. Some sources claim the nebula is actually a supernova remnant. Quoted at 900 light years from earth the Witch Head is blue not only from Rigel but also from the nebulas dust grains reflecting blue light better than other colours. I like the first orientation as it looks like a fluffy little cloud but i thought i would also post the more common view to avoid people straining their necks trying to view it the 'correct' way up. These data were captured back in November 2018 using a Takahashi Epsilon 130 and a Zwo Asi 071. Mounted on an AzEq6. Sequenced in Sgpro. Stacked in APP. Processed in APP, Pixinsight and Photoshop. 4.5 hrs in 150 second subs gain 50 and cooled to -5. Thanks for looking Richard.
  9. Nothing like some usb issues to get you back in the groove. Plus ca change. Your guiding looks great. I can tell you my AzEq6 is lagging behind you there. Ref your corner stars there's very slight elongation. Unnoticeable until you mentioned it. I know it will bug you tho.🤪
  10. That's a great image Brendan, full of detail. Less is definitely more in this case.
  11. Hi, hopefully someone can help. I've everything set up and ready for imaging apart from one thing. When i run the auto focus routine in Sgpro Phd2 continues to guide even though i have the pause during focus box ticked. Anyone have any ideas? This isn't a new issue, just getting round to looking for a fix now. Thanks Richard.
  12. Hi Alan. Sorry to hear that you're struggling with your new camera. Why don't you upload the sub here and i'll have a look for you. Keep the faith as it's a great camera and something i've learned over the last few years is that any problems are usually my own fault and almost always something simple.
  13. Very nice trio. I particularly like the rgb version
  14. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/zwo-accessories/zwo-125-helical-focuser.html If anyone uses the Zwo Oag then they'll know just how frustrating it can be to focus. My guide stars were always banana shaped and i used to dread making any changes to my imaging rig for fear of needing to refocus. Pure luck while browsing online brought me what i thought would be the solution Zwo helical focuser for Asi mini cameras. Stupidly i paid no attention to the word mini as if i had i would have realised that these are a completely new line of camera and while my old Asi 120 would fit the focuser it would not come to focus. This meant another purchase. Not so bad i felt as a backup camera is great to have. First clear night to test and everything worked well. I did have to download new drivers to get the camera to connect but i got this all sorted during daylight. I have to say the focuser is wonderful, i achieved focus in seconds and locked it in place with the thumbscrew provided. If anyone had the issues i had then this is a great solution and great value at £59. Although upgrading the camera cost an additional £149 i have no regrets.
  15. Stunning detail Alex.
  16. I know this is subjective but to my eye the drizzle version i posted above looks better. Very little difference until zoomed in. I also found it easier to process. The stars were easier to control, again purely subjective. However the crop you posted shows almost the opposite, that's why i thought you had mixed them up.
  17. Looks to me that you have mixed up the which one is the drizzle version
  18. Hi Vlaiv. Sorry for the delay in this. These images have been auto stretched in APP no further processing. Drizzle No Drizzle Drizzle crop No Drizzle crop
  19. Given a choice between a mono and osc, I'd go mono all day long. It's just so much more versatile. Having said that I'm in the fortunate position to have one of both and now i use the mono exclusively for narrowband and the osc for broadband. The results i get with the 071 are far superior to the 1600 and it's just so simple to use. Both systems have their uses but i have to set up for each imaging session and there's less to go wrong with the 071. I agree with Olly that a osc works best with fast well corrected optics under dark skies.
  20. Yes a little vignetting but not an issue with flats. Just get the filters as close to the camera as possible.
