  1. I added in the data that Olly kindly gave me. Thanks Olly. I made a starless version of Ollys Oiii, registered it with my own data using dynamic alignment in PI. I then brought both images into PS and changed the squid image to rgb and deleted the red channel, replacing it with black. Copy and paste onto the mosaic and changed the blend mode to lighten, adjusting brightness and contrast to taste.
  2. On a night of so many firsts it's amazing you got anything.👍
  3. No calibration autostretch With calibration autostretch Notice the bright center and dark edges on the the image without calibration.
  4. Another consideration with flats is that the bigger your sensor the larger the light drop off from the centre to the edges. With my aps-c i find flats to be absolutely vital. While i can use gradient removal tools or even artificial flats to fix, i find the end results to be far superior with them. Bias/flat dark subtraction also needed for proper flats. If your sensor suffers any amplifier glow then darks are also crucial.
  5. Another plus for the Zwo version is that you can use 1.25 filters. Afaik the Horizon needs larger ones.
  6. As far as i can tell the only advantages of the Zwo version will be the integrated hub and more stable drivers. Zwo have struggled with frosting and dew issues on their larger sensors. Qhy seems to be better on the hardware front but lacking when it comes to drivers. I see the early users of the Qhy 600 are reporting software problems. I would expect the prices to be very close.
  7. Well that's bloody brutal, and you're well entitled to your rant. I've had no problems using Dhl. Used them today to send a camera to Germany. Richard
  8. Nice one. Definitely got a bit more out of it. I often have the same dilemma when imaging dim targets. To keep going when you can't see a whole lot even after stacking takes a certain stubbornness.
  9. Well I'm flattered by that considering the quality of images we see here. Thanks Thanks Carole. Wow that is feint. You can just see it starting to appear. Will you keep at it?
  10. Love the colour and the widescreen view.
  11. Thanks. If only you gave them out.😀 Thanks. Nothing in this hobby is sane. Thanks Olly and thanks for the offer which i will take you up on if it's not too much bother.
  12. Thanks very much Gorann. If only i had some Oiii for the Squid.
  13. As far as i know Zwo give you everything you need to connect. I have an Asi 071 and everything came with the camera.
  14. Thank you. Thanks, i did lose patience about half way through and switched to another target. Got a run of a few clear nights close together so i was able to go at it with renewed enthusiasm.
  15. Thanks. It would have to wait until next year as my house will be blocking it soon.
  16. Hi all, this has been a tough slog. Starting in August i intended to just shoot Barnard 150 and well i just kept going. I really have no idea how you guys with mono cameras manage mosaics, hats off. Shot over 9 nights and a total of 31 hrs in 150 second subs. Esprit 100, Zwo 071 pro, mounted on an AzEq6 Captured using SGPro, stacked in APP. Processed in APP, PI and PS. Hope you like it. Richard.
  17. Agreed. Luckily my 071 pro has been very good apart from one night. Issue sorted by changing the dessicant tablets.
  18. Thanks. This is the sort of information i was looking for. I'm leaning towards the Qhy version as they seem to have better cooling than the zwo offerings.
  19. This new camera is due out this month and going by the specs it looks to be a decent step up from my Asi 071. I'm hearing all sorts about Qhy's dodgy drivers. Should i be concerned? Price looks to be in around 2.5k. No mono unfortunately. https://www.qhyccd.com/index.php?m=content&c=index&a=show&catid=94&id=56
