I'm off out now for a couple of hours but I'll post further on how to use the Activity streams when I get back.

You can give any name to a new Activity stream that you create such as "New Content" .

John - I found the activity bit - but I must be thick or something cos nothing means anything to me. It's just a load of switches - what does "Content I follow" actually mean? What happens when I click any of the choices? and where does it appear?

Ok, I think: on the drop down with your name is an option for Managed Followed Content. Set this up for the forums you like to follow ( you may need to go to the forum and click Follow), you can then set preferences on how you receive notifications. You do the same with threads - the old site automatically followed items that you post in.

On the activity stream, on the right is an Unread  stream, in here you can edit it to only show you Content That You Follow. You can then save these settings to a new stream - this may be something they are still setting up (or it may be my pad) as I couldn't get it to save.
