Skymax 90 maximising FOV
djhartist replied to Mr niall's topic in Getting Started Equipment Help and Advice
Have a Revelation Astro 32mm plossl. This has very slight vignetting in the skymax but is clear and bright, and is a larger fov than the 25mm plossl that was supplied. You could use a 24mm 68degree or 25mm bst but I prefer the 32mm plossl as it has a slightly larger exit pupil which gives a brighter image, which I find preferable for this small aperture scope. Personally wouldn't bother with a 40mm plossl as it would only have a narrow fov. Great scopes though. -

My scope and accs are all black so it should fit in just fine. I can blend in with the hedges when it gets dark then :-) -

Evostar 120 high power eyepiece limit
djhartist replied to djhartist's topic in Discussions - Eyepieces
Thanks all. Was tempted by the 5mm Myriad but that takes it to x200 and I thought that nay be the limit. Do have a neodymium filter in diagonal and a wratten #8 light yellow filter which can go on eyepiece, and combined these sort out ca and let mags go up. But think it's better to stick with the 9mm or take a chance and go slightly higher but using an eyepiece with less fov. Thank u.
