  2. I would ask the question to Lucas: "Can I buy the mount only" Then have a fabricated "elbow" manufactured for your pier and declination. Steve

    Hello.

Hi and a very warm welcome to the Lounge Steve
  11. Hi Nigella, Can you post some photos of the inside of the dome, in particular views of the top of the inner wall where it meets the dome. Steve
  12. Just seen the video. The dome is turning at a fair lick and could cause damage to the drive belt teeth or de-bond the belt due to the inertia when the dome starts and stops. I use a motor controller and have slowed my dome down to 60 secs per revolution to combat this issue. Steve
  13. That's looking very professional build Peter. looking forward to the step by step photos until a fully completed Observatory Steve
  14. Great imagination and methodology on achieving your Semi-automated Dome Next step... the Shutter ? Steve
  15. The good old 2.1 metre Pulsar Dome is looking incredible after it's makeover. It looks like new Steve
  16. Hi Johnathan and a very warm welcome to the Lounge ? Steve
  17. Then I started the exciting task of laying the rubber tiles. I took up the two small pieces of ply from around the pier to use as a template to cut the hole for the pier. Incredibly, I got this right first time, and the centre tile slipped over the pier without a problem. I've fitted all the tiles apart from the part-tiles around the edge. I'll try and finish these tomorrow. Don't forget to leave a gap around the edges. The tiles do tend to expand quite considerably during the warm weather. Steve
  18. I have built 3 of Robert Browns Auto Focuser units and cannot fault any of them. As noted they work with SGP and also MaximDL. I have also build another of Robert's projects MySQM A fully functional sky quality meter with added rain and cloud sensors. Steve
  19. I must admit that Windows RD is much better than Teamviewer, as now and again it would end it's session abruptly and needed to be restarted. Which ended many a session prematurely. Steve
  20. You are probably right. I set mine up a few years back and as both computers are pro versions I assumed they were needed. Steve
  21. No it has to run on both computers and they have to be pro versions. I run mine on W10 laptop to W7 astro PC. Steve
  22. Received the new Inside Pixinsight 2nd edition. Steve
  23. Certainly go for a bigger eye Gina. Additional clearance is not an issue in this case. Also follow Dave's tip and grind a chamfer on the bolt, to aid location and especially as you are going to automate the roof. Steve
  24. That looks truly amazing Steve. Anyone have any suggestions for restoring a white dome? Steve
