Just thought i would pop on and say hi :D

Im new to all this, and have recently been bought a 130mm Newtonian which im having much fun with (..really enjoying looking at saturn or be it a little bit blurry ) and the general night sky . Ive been thinking of taking up Astronomy for years and have at last taken the plunge and im hocked already :p

Anyway look forward to chatting with you guys and galls over the next few weeks/months/years....

Hi Nick and welcome to SGL, I think you mean Astronomy, the word you have used is not received on here very well at all, enjoy your scope.

Hi Nick and welcome to the forum.

I would have thought that you would obtain sharp if not small images of Saturn. Are you looking at this object low in the sky or just over roof tops or is your collimation out? I wouldn't want fuzzy images of Saturn to put you off from future observing!
