Hi All,

I have been interested in Astronomy for about a year now although unfortunately interrupted by the clouds, world cup and alcohol (and work).

I started with a small telescope (3" refractor) and also got a pair of binocs.

I got frustrated with not being able to find the andromeda galaxy with the scope and so have just ordered my first goto scope. I know that some of you may think that is giving in, but I don't have a billion years!!

Hi Shaun and welcome to the forum.

No need to apologise for wanting GOTO, I've got it and it's great so if anyone gives you a hard time you can come and join my gang! It's a very practical and pragmatic way of learning the skies given the cloud that we have been having. I saw your list that places world cup, booze and then work - like your style!:hello2::D
