Hello Folks,

Just a quick introduction. I have been promising myself a telescope for many years and last month finally took the plunge and bought a secondhand Celestron omni 150 Newtonian which I am just getting to grips with. I'll probably ask some very simple questions so please bear with me! I look forward to joining the community. I moved to darkest Devon from 'oop North' 5 years ago so its about time a made use of the unpolluted skies.

I did have brief contact with an astronomy group in Plymouth via Dennis Gavin but my emails regarding the details of last weeks meeting went unanswered (maybe I've failed the spam filter?). Can anyone provide me with details of the group please - I spotted it on the Astronomy book display at Waterstones but have since lost all the info.

Hi Paul and welcome to the forum.

Congratulations on getting your scope and no doubt at a bargain price. Please feel free to ask questions on what you want to know. There is a search facility at the top of the page if you haven't clocked it which is useful to examine past questions/answers in the past.
