Clearly there needs to be some sort of online dating service for astronomers - how else is a person who wants to build what is essentially a whole new house devoted to astronomy going to find a partner who thinks it's a good idea?

Its nice - wish I could be allowed to spend that sort of cash but you know if I could I probably wouldnt. I like being out doors and seeing.

Centralised vacccums - you have a big vac cylinder in the house somewhere (usually in a basement) round the house there are plug in points for the hose - so you just take the hose round with its attachments and plug in. The bag is a big affair that lives in the basement. Someone I work with has a house with one fitted.

Its a bit like a common vaccum like hospitals have next to bedsides.

Yeah, but a HUGE forest within running distance. Bear-threat may be a factor though...

Seriously though, if ever there was something to consume the lottery-win I'm not likely to experience... that would be it. The observatory, that is... not the undies-at-ankles-while-running-from-bears part.
