Yes, very nice photo Ed. I was out viewing Saturn last night too. (I watched it for several minutes through my C8 SCT with binoviewers).

Your image does indeed do admirable justice to the beauty of the Planet and it's retinue.

There are so many things of beauty to fill our eyes and minds.

I think we are a little more fortunate than most, being astronomers, and able to see sights like this. If not directly through our own means, then by Images like this, captured by others.

It is indeed a splendid spectacle, Saturn and some of her family.

Wonderful picture Ed.

Many many thanks all of you.

Glad i could share the moment.

I agree that's stunning!

Is that two sets of images combined? if not how did you manage to get the moons without over exposing Saturn?

Whatever you did it worked a treat!

Ant

Ant

its a normal luminance an over exposed one and RGB.

LRGB combined in maxim and L2 combined with LRGB in photoshop.

(hope that makes sense)

Another cracking shot Ed.

The seeing was pretty good here on Wednesday night as well. I had a look at Saturn through my 12" Skyliner and it really was jaw dropping, the first time I've seen Saturn through this scope in good seeing

What were you using as a lum filter?
