  1. As an update for anyone who is contemplating this mount and is reading this post I have been running this mount for the past two years successfully with an ED80 and a 1300mm FL Newt and easily achieve 30 min subs guiding with a Lodestar X2 and OAG.. Is the mount without issues - No, but any there are can be relatively easily easovercome. Yes there is some backlash which can be easily overcome with careful balancing. At its price point it represents fantastic value for the money and I am certainly very happy with my purchase. Would you compare a Ford Mondeo to a Ferrari - No which is why I don't understand why people compare the EQ8 to a Paramount or 10 Micron, AP or other high end mount its not a fair comparison.
  2. No, I did not have to install anything else, it just worked from install, I use it on several Google devices (Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 + 6P) and it works great on them all. Brendan. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  3. Strange, it works perfectly well on my Nexus 6P on Marshmallow. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  4. I have also had very good service from Pulsar and I am based in Scotland. Brendan.
  5. If space is limited then a dome takes up the minimum space and has all the advantages noted earlier, for imaging a motorised dome wins hands down. I am so happy with my dome and the protection it gives for the equipment and me, plenty of space as I am rarely in there other than to fiddle, imaging is remotely controlled.
  6. Fantastic image, well done. Brendan Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  7. Beautiful image, a great result with the G2-8300 on it's first outing. Brendan. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  8. That's a fine widefield image Ivo, no easy task to capture Dark Nebula with a DSLR but you have and combined with your delicate processing you have brought out a wealth of detail, well done. Brendan Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  9. Two excellent images, beautiful processing, a great result. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  10. A beautiful result, lots of excellent detail, processing is very natural and and it works really well, It is an honest image in my book, a great decision not to overprocess and force the data. Looking forward to more excellent images over the coming months. B.
  11. Excellent image, a great result from a DSLR. Brendan.
