Hello from Ireland

Just joined Stargazers Lounge to hopefully learn some basics of Star Gazing - I have experience with cameras and lenses / settings and I shoot with a mirrorless Fuji XT2 and I generally use prime lenses - not zooms.

I have been researching a couple of longer prime lenses and the Pentax Super Takumar 200 f4 seems to work quite well and not a bagful of money to buy. I tend to like vintage/legacy lenses for my photography as they push you to use the exposure triangle and also slow the process down - I also recently purchased a pair of Celestron Skymasters 15x70 which are with Postman Pat - and thanks to COVIC-19 everything is running behind

Anyway thats me basic introduction and hello to all - look forward to making some contribution to the lounge

Stay Safe

Welcome to the lounge Paul. I like vintage lenses too  and find them good for wide field Astro. I have a 200mm Takumar and for what I paid for it, it is excellent.

Where exactly are you. I'm Galway and just about to lose Astronomical dark for the next 8 weeks or so which is frustrating!

Take care

David

Welcome to SGL :) Lots of help for you on here...

There's a lot of fun to be had using old prime lenses if you've got a simple tracking mount- below was taken with a 1970's Jupiter 135mm lens on a Canon 600d.
