Welcome from land down under

There has been posts previously listing astronomy clubs in the UK

Go along to your local club, before racing out and buying a scope, which may later regret

First thing you have to decide, is you want a scope for observing the moon, planets and deep sky objects, or venturing into astrophotography

Just observing, you cannot go past a dob, and a Skywatcher 10" collapsible is ideal choice, and also easy to set up and transport

If astrophotography, then the mount is the most important item, as allows you to track the object you are imaging

Skywatcher ED80 on a EQ5/EQ6 is your weapon of choice

Have fun, and enjoy

John
