First Attempt

Hi All,

New to the forum and new to astrophotography. I've had my scope for a while now but only recently started to attempt taking some photos. This was taken as a short video clip on an iPhone mounted to the eyepiece of my Skywatcher Skymax 102 Mak, processed in PIPP then stacked the best 300 frames in Registax. I'm quite pleased with the results but am sure there is room for improvement as I am still very much learning how to use the software by trial and error. I also have a spc900nc webcam but haven't had much success with that yet - still got a lot to learn!

Thanks for all the kind comments guys, it's much appreciated! I tried to get some images with the webcam first but the results were not very good, the field of view was too small and they were not very sharp so I decided to try with the iPhone mounted on a 20mm eyepiece and got this. I imagine there was a lot of beginners luck involved but I'm happy with the result!

I'm hoping it is clear on Sunday as I'd like to try and get a picture of the Moon and Jupiter together if I can get a wide enough field of view.

Great image what adapter did you use I am after another one I have tried several with limited results.

It is just a cheap Chinese one I got from eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Telescope-Cell-Phone-Adapter-Mobile-Mounts-Universal-Spotting-Scope-Binocular-/222045748916?hash=item33b2f53eb4:g:7QQAAOSwxp9W3TwO

Can't say I would recommend it though, it is quite fiddly and doesn't attach to the eyepiece very securely - it actually fell off once (luckily no damage!) so I think I will be looking for something better soon.

These dont look to bad I may try on of these.
