thankyou all, well nick haha big erorr when my email got set up years ago.

just dug out the 20x50 binos to get into the basics and just learn some constollations. i'll buy a scope in time and probably a camera soon, love the idea of taking picture of nebulas and getting the colours, any recommendations?

Oh and as for the advice bit.

Don't jump in there too quickly mate. If you have any particular kit in mind then post a "I am thinking of buying this" type post and you will get all the best advice on here....

Hang in there with the binos and read up on the pros and cons from other posts in the "Newcomers" &"Equipment" sections.

Find out if there are any astro societies near you then join one. (that will probably let you use kit you wouldn't normally have access to.

I know that from the outside they will seem like a closed group but astronomers are usually a very friendly lot.
