Hi there,

Im Nick, im 24 and i live in a small village near eastbourne in the middle of nowhere ( Very little light Pollution)

Iv been interested in star gazing for around a year, i bought a telescope from a small shop in Froom, Whiltshire. its a Sky-Watcher 80mm, after using this for the first time i have been hooked, viewing Jupiter and its moon, the colours of Sirius and the moon.

Im now looking at upgrading my scope hence my reason for becoming a member!

Regards,

Nick

Hi Nick, welcome to SGL - I'm also Nick, and bizarrely, originally from just down the road in Rye on the otherside of Hastings (albeit now living in Leeds oop in't Yorkshire).

Just a thought, but do you own any binoculars? I took my elderly-but-trusty pair of Nikon Aculons up Firle Beacon near Lewes a few years back, and bar the climb itself (don't know what the gradient is, but it seemed phenomenally steep in the dark), and the wide FOV binoculars gave me as just incredible. Given the (relatively) dark skies and open landscape round your way, a decent pair of bins would be a great accompaniment.

Enjoy, and clear skies!
