My Son's first astro image - Saturn

Recommended Posts

This image was captured, with my assistance, by my 8 year old son using my Sky-Watcher Explorer 190MN Pro and a QHY IMG132E planetary camera. We recorded a 2000 frame avi and then with a little tuition, he processed the best 800 frames using Autostakkert 2, followed by Registax 6 to adjust the wavelets. ThomassSaturn17May14_zps89b3370c.png

Thanks for all the comments - we are both chuffed with how it turned out. He loves helping me out, but DSO imaging and processing is a little too complicated for him at the moment so I thought planetary imaging might be a good way to get him more actively involved and keep the interest going.

Congratulations! We love this image.
