M81 The final version

Following on from this  thread http://stargazerslounge.com/topic/206331-the-neglected-brother-of-m82/ I have been battling the winter storms and full moon to re-shoot all the RGB for my M81 image.

The previous image had short 5 min subs from 2012/3 and I had to remove the RGB from the stars as I was processing the colour too hard to get the look I wanted. The red channel didn'r stand up at all well and there was no sign of the Ha rich knots in the spiral arms.

So after 2 months almost to the day since I started this years M81 I have finally finished with it. There is 8 hours of Lum in 10 min subs and 3 hours of each RGB also in 10 minute subs.

All imaged on my 6" RC and Atik 314l+, the wizardry was done in Pixinsight and CS5.

Thanks for looking :)
