I'm guessing from the second photo that "FRAGILE" has a different meaning in your part of the world :D

James

I think that most couriers see the word 'Fragile' and take this as a challenge/license to batter 7 bells out of the carton - Odd really as when a box arrives like this at work I get a strange urge to batter the courier ;)

Though from what I've read on line the contents are all very well packed in lots of foam moulding, so hopefully all will be well.

Congratulations on the new mount Gina, bet you didn't sleep much last night in anticipation of its arrival today.

The outer box containing the weights looks a bit pummelled

Enjoy

Sorry for the delay with the photos - the unboxing took a while and then all the photos needed sorting out.  Oh and my OH wanted his lunch - I did too for that matter :D

Anyway, here are some photos.

can't wait to see further unveiling, interested to see this alongside your Neq6 for a size comparison

I'll see what I can do :)  ATM the EQ8 is indoors and the NEQ6 is out in the obsy and the weather is still bad but showing signs of improvement.

Battered the outer boxes may be but the packaging is quite adequate and the insides are totally undamaged AFAICT :)  The mount is not just packed in foam and cardboard, it's in a really superb packing case with decent size castors.  Not big enought to cope with the rough grass between here and the obsy though so I'll probably use the sack barrow (with padding).

Thank you Mike :)  You are quite right - I did have a job sleeping last night  :D  Yes, the weights box was in quite a state but plenty of "squiggly wigglies" protected the inside boxes :)

Here's a photo showing the size - I've stood up a metre carpenters rule against the mount.  I've also adjusted the altitude PA to 51 degrees - the latittude here.  Without a load on the mount this was extremely easy - I just turned the adjuster by hand without the bar.  So this shows the mount as it would be for the UK.

Here's a close up photo of the worm and worm gear used for the PA altitude adjustment.  As can be seen this is really rugged and super smooth.  No bolt pressing on an unaligned lug as in the NEQ6 - this is a proper job :)
