A few photos from my holiday - a couple of the stars over our cottage, with a touch of Milky Way, taken on 06.08.15 - some of the birds of prey taken at the International Centre for Birds of Prey at Newent on 05.08.15 - and a robin at Yat Rock on 07.08.15 :)

Lovely photo's Vicky

Had a little play with one to put some constellation lines on, took me quite a while to figure out which part of the sky it was

Thanks for that Damian - I've re-saved the image with the labels on - cheers buddy!

I have no idea on the settings for the birds Mark - I was using my 75mm-300mm lens on sports mode. Just kept adjusting the lens and shooting away to see what I got. A lot of photos didn't even have a bird in them - they were that quick lol. Pleased with some of the photos I have got. I've put more on my FB page as I didn't want to post too many on here.

Here's my go at M13 from 06.08.15 using the DSLR and 300mm lens - stacked image of approx. 10 photos :)

Hi, relatively new to star gazing/Astronomy, live in Ossett, just wondering when next meeting is at Horbury Academy School , I would like to attend and see what's going on please.

Eric

Hi Eric and welcome to our little thread.

our next meeting is on the 17th of September and can be found on the website here

http://wakefieldastronomysociety.co.uk/upcoming-meetings-and-events.html

We are planning a meet on the 12th of this month for a viewing of the persieds meteor shower, if the skies are clear this will probably be at Winscarr.

I want to go to wimcarr tonight. Why isn't the sky clear :( lol

The sky is lovely and clear over Horbury - is it cloudy your way?

At the minute I am in that flat mood after a holiday when you just want to do nothing but watch TV and have a beer.

Might do a bit of backyard viewing with the 80mm frac later if I can get off the sofa lol.

I've missed my ickle frac this week :)

The sky is clear over my way too. I can see Holme moss and there's a large bank of cloud that way but it does look mainly clear.

Great pics there Vicky!

Hope the sky has stayed clear for you Damian and Chris.

Welcome Eric, as the others have said please do come join us.

Home from Tom Jones concert, they cancelled it half way through as the electrics tripped when he was in mid flow! Don't think he was happy. Neither were all us, but the bits we did see were great. :)

Just in from a pleasant couple of hours with Chris once we managed to find each other.

It steadily clouded up but before it did I managed quite few objects including a new messier in Capricornus M30

Three persieds and the ISS

Bed time now

Damian
