Howdo from Aberdeenshire

Hi Eveyone,

Jumped in and started harrassing folk about setups and haven't even said hello yet! :o

As you can see from the pic, there are those that call me Tim. I got my telescope in 2002 and since then haven't used it nearly as much as I should have (contrary to what I stated in my first post, it's actually a Helios 150 with a SkyScan 2001 EQ3-2 mount with polarscope....just goes to show how much I use it!!) After leaving uni I found myself in a nice, quiet, dark corner of Aberdeenshire where I could finally use the scope! I recently got myself a Nikon D3100 and really want to get into imaging now. I've taken a few snaps of the night sky on a small tripod, but they're all rubbish, ha ha! Recently bought myself a T-ring and motors for the scope, so, with a little patience and luck I'll be able to upload some of my first pictures soon!

Hello Tim

I've had a scope for ages and a digital SLR but not yet put the two together despite buying an adaptor! One day! Although everything I read seems to say that using a DSLR is not easy compared with the other routes such as webcams and specialist cameras
