First of all thanks to everyone for the scope advice. My 8" dob turns up tomorrow :)

Anyways, my name's neil. I'm new to this astronomy stuff. I have a 1 year old daughter so i've decided I need a quiet hobby!

I live in Hereford (if anyone knows where that is). By day I work as a designer/web developer so if anyone has any computer questions ask away (photoshop,etc).

Hi Neil, welcome to the lounge - new baby! very exciting and more ways to stay up late at night - though think the Dob will probably prove much less demanding than the little girl ;)

Hope you manage to get out of town and enjoy some of the great dark skies the beacons have to offer.
