Recently watched the League of Gentlemen again.

Hi all, did lots of stargazing as a kid, with a small refractor, finally got back to it, and bought a skywatcher 250px,and am gobsmacked how good it is (especially with the Californian weather we've got in Somerset at the moment)

I've spent the last few nights looking through the scope, going whooa, taking sharp intakes of breath, and exclaiming look at that! (have made a mental note to rein it in a bit when the kids have gone to bed and the neighbours are taking the recycling out.)

And am amazed how easy it is to find objects (although i learned the sky pretty well as a kid) with the dob compared to the dodgy equatorial I had.

Only rough spot was on the second night, I brought the scope back in, looked down the tube, and saw a baby slug making pretty, but rather unpleasing slime trails on the primary. The poor beggar didn't stand a chance.

Anyway, have found lots of fascinating and really useful advice on the forums, so thought i'd better say thank you and hello.
