Greetings from Western Maryland U.S.A. !

I am a former President of our local amateur Astronomy club, the TriState Astronomers, of Hagerstown, MD. , and current Editor of "The Observer", our club's monthly newsletter. Our town is not all that large, but we have a membership of over 60 people, and some of them live as far away as Washington D.C., our nation's Capitol !

As you might guess, I have been interested in astronomy since I was young, and have owned many telescopes, binoculars, etc. almost as far back as I can remember. Years ago, I won a certificate from the Astronomical League for having observed and logged the 110 Messier Objects found in his famous catalog of "Things to avoid when searching for comets in the night skies!"

I love to teach others and share my enthusiasm for the night skies. Hopefully I will be able to learn from others, and maybe impart a gem or two of wisdom that I have gleaned from many years under the stars.

I am sure that we will find out more about each other in the time to come. Thanks for allowing me on board !

Clear skies ! Jim S.
