Hello All,

A SGL member (Anthony) pointed me in the direction of this forum.

My name is Mike Deegan and I image from my Back garden in Swindon.

My main intrest is astroimaging and have been at it about 3 years (which is the equivalent to about 6 months in any other hobby, what with the weather )

Here is one of my latest images.

And a link to my best luna image to date

Flippin heck Mike, when I opened that first image up I thought I was in a Lunar Lander heading for the surface.

Brill images you produce. Just more goodies for SGL lads & lasses to appreciate. Keep em rollin in.

Welcome by the way.

Ron.

How do you cope with the light pollution in Swindon? I'm 12 miles away and we get some of Swindon's lurid glow out in the sticks here in Ramsbury.

Hi.

I bet you have some very nice skies out there.

The LP is a problem but it can be dealt with to a degree in post processing.

I have a Ha filter on order which should help when imaging the fainter nebular and if the LP is really bad I turn to the Moon and planets. :D

Visual is not a problem as I don't do any. :D

I have found a dark site on a farm/camp site on Clench Common (just Southwest of Marlborough) where I can just pay for the power used, but Haven't been able to get free time and the weather to cooperate as yet

Hi Mike,

A warm welcome, only just stumbled on your introduction!!! But had good fun hunting down all the images you've posted. I did not manage to get the lunar eclipse animation to work yet though. I'll keep trying

All the best - any M51 colour yet?

Anthony
