  1. And you are sure your PA is spot on....? Or very very close...? And how long is it before it starts to drift and at what focal length is this at..?
  2. You have to make sure you click โ€œsyncโ€ on the object after its centred and solved...๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
  3. One mistake you are making is solving on Polaris, you should not do this...it does not work well at all and takes a while to complete as you have found, just not enough stars, you should slew to an object then solve and sync, then another object in the opposite side of the sky, and same again and then to your target and solve and sync, this builds an alignment model, and allows for much better and precise tracking...and also very good PA helps... ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
  4. I had a go at this same target with my Meade series 5000 80mm triplet scope just before Xmas last year... 3 hours of lights with an SXM25c camera, EQ8 and 3 minute unguided subs..and processed in APP also cropped...
  5. Both the dome and shutter drive motor assembly is a very expensive luxury, at ยฃ2600 for them both....๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ but really the dome drive is needed as you will be out there moving manually...but the shutter drive is not needed, but if you do go down that route, then one thing to consider is it can be quite noisy opening and closing, so if, like me you have three neighbours bedroom windows within 20m then itโ€™s something to consider.... Just my 2p worth....
  6. www.cheapastrophotography.com Very good and a good price, had a couple done by them..around ยฃ75 including return postage... ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
  7. Yep, that me all over....works a treat....๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
  8. Yes, exactly, itโ€™s the driver interface software, you can run this on the RPI on your mount with all kit connected to it, and then run Kstars from a different PC in the house, (INdI server mode) or you can run it all from the RPI and then either VNC or teamviewer into the RPI desktop to control it all...I do the later....๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
  9. You wonโ€™t regret this, I did it two years ago, after constant Ascom issues, and have never looked back...INdI is superb and Kstars / Ekos also....๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ Any questions please ask...
  10. Not sure which one the OP bought, but the one in the link is only a. 300mbs wireless N one, which is no better than the internal wifi on the PI, I bought a USB 3.0 1200mbs one and gives me superb speed with my RPI around 850mbs
  11. Also FYI if itโ€™s a CMOS camera the binning is only done at the camera software level, whereas with CCD cameras you can do true hardware binning, I am not sure what difference this makes, but it does make one...๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
  12. There are only a limited few wifi dongles that will work with the RPI....so are you sure itโ€™s got ARM drivers...??
  13. Your welcome to it for ยฃ1000...๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
  14. And then just get one of these... https://www.altairastro.com/pegasus-motor-focus-kit-v2-celestron-sct-c11-inch--edge-2261-p.asp
  15. You donโ€™t need a controller, there is one built in to the Pegasus UPB all you need is the stepper motor on your scope....simples...๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
  16. I thought your were going to use ethernet homeplug adapters....why another wifi adapter...??
  17. No driver needed, if itโ€™s a homeplug that runs over house wiring...just plug in and go....
  18. Ah, ok...as you can see I am not a Linux savy person....๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜‚
  19. Be very careful using nightly builds unless you know what you are doing, there can be many bugs and issues, this particular driver may well be fine, but others may be really buggy...itโ€™s really for the savy Linux user and for beta testers...
  20. All good, but we are discussing Stellarmate on this thread not ASIair....I realise they both use RPI, but so as not to confuse people...๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
  21. No, the dongle will not work on holiday, it still needs to connect to your Wi-Fi, it just replaces the built in wifi on the RPI..itโ€™s not one with built in 4g capabilities....
  22. The mini is ok as far as I know....๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
  23. Honestly just ditch it....itโ€™s not worth the bother, as when there is an update for INdI, which is quite regular, it will probably break it all again, there are very few people that have a fully working ASI120 all the time...some do, but they are usually the Linux savy ones....๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
