  1. Well, I was actually in talks with them for the last two weeks about having an Roll off roof built, they gave me a price which I agreed too, and so we went forward with the design and were throwing different ideas around....this went on for over a week, we agreed on the design and then he said he would give me the exact quote, when that came in it was over a £1000 more, he said he was sorry for mis quoting me at the start and being unrealistic, so completely wasted two weeks of my time, as I had already told him why my limit was at the start....and the design we agreed on was simpler than the one he quoted for originally....so was not happy at all......😡😡 So I was not impressed at all. Now, Home ObservatoryUK on the other hand is a better company, they quoted me over the phone, told me the price was valid for a few weeks and told me when they could fit it, and TBH it sounded a much more solid and better design. I was looking for a 7’ x 6’ ROR no warm room, it was purely just to house my scope, and Outsideology wanted £3500 without fitting ( as was happy to do myself) and Home ObservatoryUK wanted £3450 including fitting....and £2850 if I fitted myself.... https://www.homeobservatoryuk.com
  2. @GeekTeacher have you read this, it’s very good.. https://digitalstars.files.wordpress.com/2020/09/app-quick-start-guide-v1.1.pdf
  3. You can use APP for it all, I have done many times, it’s a bit more of a learning curve, and the tools are not as powerful as PI, but it can be done, and anyone who says that it can’t, does not know how to use APP, and to assume you can’t is just ignorant.... I agree, I would never pay for both and why would you, I use APP all the time, and on “some” images I do move to PS for a final levels and curves but that’s it, only because I have an old copy of PS and because on some images it’s easier..... these were done purely in APP, and I am fairly happy with them...
  4. Not arguing at all, for the sake of it, or otherwise, why would you even say that..?? just because I have the audacity to disagree, I know people on this forum don’t like that, I was just asking for your opinion on the subject....nothing more...
  5. So in your opinion what can’t APP do..? as in my opinion it’s the best out there for stacking and calibration....
  6. Hmmm, it is, it’s just not quite on par with PI...but it can all be done, to a certain level....👍🏼
  7. How long have you owned...? as there has been major updates that owners have not got....the last one was approx 2 years ago if memory serves....the best option is to rent.... 👍🏼
  8. Hi, I am looking at automation a pulsar dome, but I don’t want to spend the £1300 they are asking for the pulsar system, also I don’t need all the features that come with it, I am after just a simple motor system to drive the dome at sidereal rate, and maybe a hand control or similar to move manually when setting up...nothing fancy...is there anything out there....?? Thanks for looking
  9. I have bought a couple of items from the EU recently, and although slightly more expensive, not by much, I think the U.K. retailers have either seen an opportunity, or it purely down to Shipping costs...but as we all know, if and when people start to pay these higher prices, as they have no choice, the retailers ain’t gonna reduce them are they...I mean c’mon...why would they...it’s business at the end of the day...so I think we need to accept it, or find a new hobby....
  10. Yes, I noticed yesterday a certain well know secondhand dealer in Birmingham, his prices on eBay, and his site to a certain extent, have gone stupid...£180 for a celesteon f6.3 reducer / flattener.....😮😮😮😮😮
  11. Hi, a little off topic but can I ask is your FS60 the C or CB version, as I am trying to find the back focus distance (from back of focuser housing to focus point) for the CB, as the system charts I have seen all contradict each other...I thought it was 151mm but have seen since it’s 163mm, any thoughts..👍🏼
  12. Well at room temp, yes you have to expect that....🤔 Try it at -10 and if still the same then send it back...or buy a CCD... 👍🏼
  13. Yes I understand, but I would assume that it’s hit its stop when the end of the slotted hole was hit...but maybe it would go in further...maybe @jock1958 can enlighten us...
  14. The MEF3 still looks a bit neater, and does not seem to protrude quite as far... But it’s a good reduction on the price of the MEF3..👍🏼
  15. Yes I get that, I think on this new version the metal bracket is thicker, which was needed TBH, and there is a nylon washer so I think the original would be too short, the thread on this new brass one is a lot longer..👍🏼
  16. No need as it only needs to be finger tight...it’s not taking any strain at all....
  17. RDP is on windows home too, it’s just harder to find, but it’s there....👍🏼
  18. I personally think Elon Musk is a much bigger threat to this hobby, than street lights....but I guess nothing we can do about that.... ☹️
  19. No, you don’t need this, just buy a blank card, and then put Astroberry or Stellarmate on from scratch, that’s all you need.... 👍🏼
  20. This is the cable you need... https://www.widescreen-centre.co.uk/pegasus-stepper-motor-cable-rj45-to-db9.html and here too...Altair Astro are out of stock... https://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/product_info.php/info/p12467_PegasusAstro-Stepper-Motor-Cable-RJ45-to-DB9-for-UPB-and-DMFC.html
