  1. Well FLO sell the 150P-DS with the EQ5 so that should be sufficient but I would be tempted to put it on the HEQ5 or an EQ6 of some sort.
  2. I would consider cast iron, hell of a lot cheaper, easy to machine. Just slap on some paint.
  3. Not with a 1000mm lens and a 2X converter 😉
  4. Make a list of what you can afford then put them in to this calculator to see which is most suitable for your scope. https://astronomy.tools/calculators/ccd_suitability Aim to be in the mid/low green section.
  5. Stunning, the best I've seen.
  6. There's no such thing as overkill when it comes to mounts, the higher the weight capacity for AP the better and also the more accurate the mechanics of the mount the better especially with larger scopes. Don't worry about a DSLR and wide angle lens looking daft on a big mount. The downside is how mobile you want your set up, maybe the HEQ5. The AZ EQ6 I have is a bit much to cart around to dark sites.
  7. Good rework, core is tamed a bit and the blue balanced nicely.
  8. Apparently there is a knock down process when they become defunct. They drop out of orbit and burn up in the atmosphere. All except the solid housing of the communications lasers (4 of them I believe) which will land with a thump. How much can Musk be sued for if someone gets killed by one?
  9. That's excellent for a single shot.
  10. So now we get thousands of black blobs floating across our images.
  11. Cracking image right down to the faintest whiffs of the outer arms.
  12. Lovely image, well done. I'm staring at it and all I can see are two cats face to face ! Am I going daft !!!
  13. You can make a start with your photographic equipment using a SW Star Adventurer or iOptron SkyGuider. This though won't be suitable for anything much more that a small refractor.
  14. Lovely pair of galaxies. Superb image detail and colour.
  15. It's difficult to say if you should combine them or not. If any dust has moved then combining could cause artefacts. I would say carefully inspect each set to see if they look the same. Look for any rings or blotches that have moved.
  16. You could try just running it from the control box to see if there's a difference.
  17. Ahh! I see it now. Eyeballs not working last night. Then does one of the other two parts in the top picture then supposed to drop into the filter holder and is then clamped with grub screws on the side.
  18. Looks like the front of your camera is different. This is from the FLO site and shows the front plate is flat with M42 female threads. Is there a part missing from it or is the front plate upside down.
  19. I agree, not much in it in price either. TS probably saves you £10 but might be worth contacting Altair see if they might price match.
  20. I was thinking that if your scope is built similar to mine then the compression clamp for the diagonal/camera can be unscrewed from the focuser. Mine does to reveal a M68 thread to fit screw on field flatteners or other accessories. On your scope it could be the ring I've pointed to in red that unscrews and one of your adapters might screw on to it.
  21. Focus tube does look like the culprit.
  22. That's temptation beyond belief, I'd do it for free. Wonder how the Mrs would react if I end up with half a dozen mounts and scopes to test out in the garden.
  23. Had a quick skim through google and it looks like Ha or Infra Red might bring the dark dust out more.
  24. Well worth the effort though.
