  1. There are a couple of YouTube videos by Chris Woodhouse that have good information on CMOS integration in Pixinsight.

Lovely image, good colours and you've nabbed a few tiddlers as well.
  3. Thanks @Merlin66, I was hoping that it unscrewed so that it could be threaded to the focuser M68 thread via a M68/M48 adapter.
  4. Looks much better to me. Somethings only need the slightest of nudges in PI.
  5. I think people under estimate how tricky M51 is to process as you have the main blue/whit and the secondary fiery orange/yellow to contend with.
  6. Dark Flats in BPP. Looks like you add them to the Flats section and it uses them separately.
  7. Oooops! looks a bit over cooked on the saturation I'm afraid but you have managed to clarify the stars in the centre. If you want to try tweaking the original then maybe try a star reduction routine.
  8. Massive difference, well done for sorting it out. Makes me think about some DSLR shots I tour a couple of months ago, might revisit them with different darks.
  9. This is of great interest to me, I've been mulling over a 2x powermate for imaging. With this one https://www.firstlightoptics.com/barlows/tele-vue-powermates.html I take it you remove the reducer at the top and it threads directly (M48) to the filter wheel. Also is it the silver lower section that unscrews to thread mount it to the focuser ? I take it that is M48 as well.
  10. Good calibration frames and careful processing will go a long way.
  11. Well enjoy your future as an astronomer and get as big a Dob as you can.
  12. I think it will help a great deal, most are variable illumination.
  13. Not necessarily, the dark nebulosity does spread quite far.
  14. Better to have a controller that none. One option is a Pegasus PowerBox or similar that has built in control via software, that way you aren't drawing unnecessary current from your battery, also has the benefits of tidying up a lot of cables.
  15. Mind posting an image to see if you were near the pinwheel.
  16. Sad to hear you're giving up on it, was it just the inability to point to a target ?
  17. Hi Adam, if I understand you correctly then Cosmetic Calibration is applied to the calibrated frames (if necessary) before they are integrated. Also wish to thank you for all the PI videos, they are very helpful.
  18. That's a great prom you've captured, well done.
  19. Gimp is one of the better post processing tools.
  20. You can combine multiple nights imaging into one but because of the large rotation you will have to crop quite a bit by the looks of it. I tried the "proper method" for one integration and I couldn't find anything on where to put in Cosmetic Correction either. Not sure about Debayer (I'm mono) but it looks like it comes between 4 and 5.
