  1. In case it helps anyone I have discovered that I can obtain focus if I use a diagonal. Now trying to find a way to use it on my Dob.
  2. Hi Mick, welcome to SGL. Judging by those images you are off to a great start with Astro photography.
  3. I have recently purchased an Astro Engineering bino viewer and a pair of 15mm Plossl eyepieces. A very kind member posted a copy of the original instructions on this site which were very clear and it looked like an easy task to get set up and focused. I used my 127 mak as it is not supposed to need a barlow or extension to obtain focus but all I am getting is a white light through the lenses however much I adjust the eyepiece focus or the telescope focus. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening or could the binoviewer be faulty ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Thank you all very much for your clear and precise explanation, even I can understand it. 😀
  5. Could someone please tell me what an undercut is on an eyepiece. Am I right in assuming it is the ridge around the barrel.
  6. Hi Dean, welcome to SGL.
  7. You will nearly always get better images with a larger aperture but maybe you should consider moving up to a 150mm which would give you a marked improvement for not much more outlay.
  8. After reading this thread I think it should be regarded as a perfect example of how NOT to treat a customer.
  9. There is a locking screw on the under side of the focuser, I discovered this when I accidentally tightened it, mistaking it for the eyepiece retaining screw. Took me a while to figure out why the focuser wasn’t working 🙄
  10. Hi and welcome to SGL.
  11. If you look for the M4 30mm computer case thumb screws on eBay they are the knurled head screws which make adjusting the secondary very easy.
  12. I used M 4 x30 mm computer case thumb screws on my 200p and they work perfectly.
  13. No need to change the locking screws as they are only there to lock the collimating screws. By the way I needed to cut about 3/4 mm off the screws as they were a tad too long.
  14. The Skywatcher auto focuser is a great addition to my scope and they are under £50.00 and easily fitted.
  15. Hi Baz, I can help with the collimating screws as I have the same scope. The primary mirror screws are M5 x 25mm knurled clamping knobs and the secondary screws are M4 x30mm computer case thumb screws. They are available on eBay and do not cost a lot and they are perfect for the job. Maurice.
  16. Good luck Baz, we all have to learn that this hobby is not as straightforward as it appears and can be very frustrating to say the least.
  17. It shouldn’t matter how many times you have to get things replaced, you have paid for new items presumably.
  18. I am more than happy just to look at the moon 🙂
