  1. The tops off plastic milk bottles fit the lens end perfectly, but I have not found anything for the other end, yet 😀
  2. I started my stargazing early last year with the Skywatcher 200P 8” dobsonian and have never regretted buying it as it is a very easy scope to use and with my platform trolley (home made) I can take it from the garage to my viewing spot and be sorted in about 2 minutes. My other 2 scopes are ok but my Dob is by far the easiest to use.
  3. Hi and welcome to SGL.
  4. I’m sure you will find someone to relieve you of your hard earned cash 😀
  5. If the vendor is not keeping his records up to date it makes you wonder what his customer service is like ???
  6. Hi and welcome to SGL.
  7. Hi Mick, glad you got it fixed. Maybe you could try and route the cable in such a way that it is less likely to get in the way.
  8. Hi and welcome to SGL.
  9. Hi Geoff, welcome to SGL from the other side of the Mersey.
  10. I hope not, but we know where to get a replacement if we need one 😀
  11. That should cover you for a further 9 accidents 😀
  12. Do you realise you have just condemned us all to 2 weeks of cloud 😀
  13. Just remembered that jack plugs and sockets come in stereo and mono, make sure you get the mono, it will make things easier.
  14. As far as I am aware there are only 3 sizes of jack sockets so you shouldn’t have a problem locating one. Just buy the jack and socket together and you should be fine.
  15. Mine had a bigger mark on the mirror than yours and it is still there and has never been a problem. You have made a good choice and it should give you many hours of pleasure. If you keep it in you garage or similar you might consider making a platform trolley so it can be wheeled about easily.
  16. Is it a jack plug an socket or a din type ? It doesn’t really matter which type you use as all you need is to make a connection to your mount. The important thing is the diameter of the socket and if you have the space inside the mount to fit it. You should be able to fix it without too much trouble.

  18. I think anything that helps us find our way around the huge maze which is our universe would be a great asset.
