  6. Sorry to burst your bubble but how often do they get the forecast right, sometimes they can’t get it right when it is actually happening 🥴
  7. There is a locking screw which should be loosened off for the focuser to work as it should.

    Hi

    Hi Ryan, welcome to SGL.
  13. Hi and welcome to SGL.
  14. That was great service, hope you enjoy using your new scope.
  15. I built one from some wood I already had and bought the wheels (2 with brakes) off eBay. I wouldn’t be without it.
  16. Good idea Dave, the clamp had been repaired when I got the tripod so my solution seemed a good method. The other 2 clamps look fine and I know they don’t need to be too tight but your idea would be added insurance. Maurice.
  17. I don’t have a 3D printer and the clip cost less than £2 and it is so much stronger I am thinking of doing the other two.
  18. Thanks for the tip but the tripod clamp is plastic. Those welding rods look like a great solution for metal repairs.
  19. One of the clamps on my EQ3-2 tripod broke so I tried to fix it with epoxy resin which lasted for a few weeks. I then tried a hose clip but this meant clamping it around the legs which was not very convenient. The next step was to place the clip around the original clamp then drill a hole in the clip to accommodate the tightening screw. It is now much stronger than the original. Btw the clip size you need is about 70 mm. If anyone needs more info just let me know. Maurice.
  20. Hi Rob, I was just wondering if you made the same mistake as I did and not fold down the eyecup when replacing the caps. Maurice.
  21. What exactly do you need, is it just drilling or do you need tapping as well ? If it is just drilling I have an industrial size pillar drill if you sent the plate to me and let me know what size.
