On holiday in Corfu many years ago I was making my way from our room to the pool via the main lounge where a group of new arrivals were being given a welcome drink. The lounge had about 8 or 10 very large sliding glass doors and as I was giving the new arrivals the once over I walked straight into one of the closed glass doors which made a sort of booming sound which caused everyone to turn to look at the idiot who walked into a plate glass door. Fortunately the only damage caused was to my pride.

Hi Andrew, welcome to SGL. You entitled your thread where to start and have done exactly the right thing by starting with this great forum.

I was browsing this post and it reminded me that I have difficulty tightening the retaining screw that holds my binoviewers in place. The problem is that the screw is too short and is difficult to tighten. Some time ago I bought a pack of knurled head screws for adjusting the secondary mirror on my Dob and had a couple left over so I tried one and it works perfectly. The second one was used to help retain the diagonal in my refractor as the eyepiece retaining ring is hard to tighten, this also works perfectly. Hope this is of interest to anyone who might be having similar problems.

I have that tripod on my EQ3-2 Mount and the difference is very noticeable, you won’t regret it 👍
