  1. They are, but.... The issue is trying to balance in that combination. For the tracker to 'track correctly/accurately the payload needs to be balanced. By having the camera and lens attached directly to the tracker (with the round green attachment I assume?) the payload center of gravity will be well forward of the mount. If using a camera and a small lens this will be ok but for bigger lenses such as your 135mm this can cause problems. However it does seem like something else is going on here. Even with that unbalanced load the tracker should still appear to track/rotate ok without any flashing error lights.. How are you powering the mount? I would guess this is a power issue. When you have used the dovetail bar the camera and lens are probably reasonably balanced so the tracker motor is not having to work very hard. By having it unbalanced the motor is working a lot harder so maybe there is not enough power for it to do so.
  2. With regards taking your flats I now use one of these. There nicely illuminated right across the screen and has three brightness settings. Good as it is usb so can be run off my asiair pro. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/A5-A4-A3-A2-Ultra-Slim-LED-Light-Box-Panel-Professional-5600K-Daylight-Light-Pad-/182188561408
  3. I am on a slow connection at the moment so cannot really download all the image (i will later). When you say you cannot get anything out of it have you managed to stack all the images? If you have managed to do some processing in GIMP for exmple can you post up the image here so we can see.
  4. Just had a quick look. The first link to your lights is empty??
  5. Same here in North Lincolnshire but I cannot remember what clear outside said. The other day clear outside and xc weather were both showing 0% cloud cover all evening and night. Got everything set up in the afternoon for clear outside to change its mind to something like 60% cloud but xc weather still showed 0%. Turned out great and got a good couple of hours of imaging done. Seems like if either app is showing no cloud I am good to go
  6. Downloaded the Tiff to have a go in GIMP but GIMP would not open the Tiff for some reason (same goes for trying to open the Tiff in DSS).
  7. Very nice. I too imaged this over the weekend. Not processed it yet though.
  8. Thanks to the OP for asking this question. I was going to ask the same. I was pondering this last night. The RA balance was perfect but DEC balance was well, non existant. Looks like there is hope after all.
  9. Very nice image from just 2 second subs. I do like using the Samyang 135mm.
  10. I too have a light shining from next door ( although not all the time). I have installed a retractable washing line that goes from one end of the garden to the other. On this I hang a blackout sheet, does the job of blocking out the light perfectly. At the end of the night I can then remove the sheet and retrack the line.
  11. I was out last night to image this same target. But for some reason I could not frame it up ( using star adventurer pro, so manually finding the target). Gave up in the end and imaged the Pleiades instead. Nice image by the way 👍
  12. I will give it another go. I don't know if it was the quality of my image (which was good in my eyes) but with the California nebula in Ha the whole image became sort of just noise.
  13. I need to try starnet again (windows). I never got on with it, it removed most of the stars but then badly distorted the image.
  14. I do like the starless version (like the other version as well of course). Can I ask what method you used to remove the stars?
  15. I have had many a frustrating night but I find I then have a night where it all goes right. The image then produced makes me feel like it's all worth the effort. If at any time it starts to feel like it's a chore to get all the gear set up then for me that will be the time to sell up. I do like the fault finding part when things are not working (it's what I do as a job) and when the solution is found that again makes it worth the effort for me.
  16. I had the exact same problem as the OP last night. It seems the asiair pro (in my case) defaults the calibration step to 500ms. By changing this to 1000ms it then calibrated and started guiding ok. It did take about 30 steps to do this though. I did notice that before when guiding around Orion it only took about 20 steps. Last night I was Guiding near the heart and soul nebula which is relatively close to Polaris. I suppose the nearer you are to Polaris the less the guide star will move. It seems upping the calibration may fix this???
  17. Seems to happen to me in my area as well. Very rare to get a clear night with no moon. That's why my Ha filter seems to get the most use. Got a couple of hours on the heart and soul nebula during last night's nearly full moon.
  18. I have gone the route of having s separate battery for each device. I use a Celestron power tank that has 5v usb and 12v for the asiair and star adventurer. I then use two 26000mah Anker power banks to run my two dew heaters. I then have another battery bank that has a dedicated output to a dummy battery for for canon DSLR.
  19. I am jealous of your skies. Here I am usually at about bortle 8 according the clear outside app.
  20. Impressive image. Can I ask what was the sky quality/ bortle when this was taken please.
  21. Having never done it myself, but a quick Google shows you need a loader program for the firmware for the computer to see the mount. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1208292/Sky-Watcher-Star-Adventurer-Mini.html?page=42
