  1. A much smaller but equally pleasing arrival from @FLO Should make use of the Vixen at Zenith less nerve wracking now! and gives 10 mm more in focus than I had as well.
  2. Oh God, and it was Red too........ You snagged yourself a true bargain with this and that fine scope as well. I hope the set up works well for you.
  3. Chaps, it's always good to be different.......
  4. Now that's nice @parallaxerr, I knew you would blink. Please let us all know how you get on with it.
  5. Yes a new scope, looks very interesting indeed. I love the 150 mm f5 scopes, very capable even if not a refractor 😉 I would ponder one as a travel set up for my camper van.
  6. Interesting to see the inside or back of that Lacerta wedge. I run a 1.25" Lunt HW and have not looked at others.
  7. Thanks Steve & All at FLO for the job done so far and the open and clear communication as above. This typifies why I like to deal with you all. Great news on parents buying telescopes for children, some will stick at it, Astronomy is given a shot in the arm for the future. As to oncoming shortages or at best challenges, I think that is to be expected in the circumstances we find ourselves.
  8. Now that must be a big dome! So Bresser have advertised a fantasy charge, sounds very poor to me.
  9. So you are comfortable with manual tracking in alt az over a driven one Andrew. What was the decider for you in this purchase?
  10. A solid mount starts with a solid foundation after all. I too had been waiting for an AYO ii to come up for ages, missed the last one as well. Ho hum.
  11. Aha, so you were the person faster at the draw perhaps? I think such a fine mount deserves an solid tripod, the Gitzos have been used on Giro type mounts. How about a Vixen Aluminium tripod?
  12. Only just seen this thread Mark, very nice indeed. Now am I not only envious of your TV scope, I am envious of the Solar set up as well!
  13. I would worry too......the sands of time are running, how many grains are left? 😉 In all seriousness Stu, take care fella.
  14. Very nice, enjoy, good luck with the sky tonight.
  15. The Observing Cupboard is still loving called 'The Khazi' by family and friends, the name has stuck I think.
  16. That was dedicated Paul, good on you. Sadly I was unable to see it as at Moon Rise, the view is blocked from my place. If it happens in the first 1 1/2 hours then I don't see it, not even from my flat roof on the East side.

    I'm back!

Welcome back into the fold Jim, Dorset move, now that sounds good. Not the first on SGL to make that move either.
  18. Garry, wow, yet another fine scope to the collection, very nice.
  19. @Split Zygote2, Michael. Thank you, very much the feedback I am after, most interesting. You still have the AZEQ6 as well? Is this for image work or do you just like it?
  20. That might tempt me John, pondering your quip for the minute.
  21. Nice one Stu, glad it was as I saw and not imagined. Good luck to everyone else with a smash and grab, just fast scudding cloud here now and so windy.
  22. And sadly looks as if we have all now missed our moment for today, well if the forecast is correct.
