  1. That sounds a fun evening you had Mike. I wish we had Hedgehogs to add to the animal list we co-observe with, but sadly not the case. Stealth Trainers sound great, where do we obtain a pair? On Light pollution, we share similar fates as you know, last night the Moon was for me the far bigger polluter from midnight when it broke cover and shone all over. I love your postcode, I had not thought of that. Sounds like your sky was similar to here, clear but not at the same time. Double stars can be a lot of fun, they truly are things of beauty to the observer. I made last night hard for myself, DSO from home with the Moon.... I like a challenge.
  2. So folks, what else should sit with these two? 1200 FL 250 mm f4.8 OOUK Dobson and the Vixen ED in signature? Long eye relief for glasses essential to about 7 mm mark. So far: APM UFF 30 mm Pentax XW 10 mm Minimalist DSO and other interests to, I have other EP from 6mm downwards in the Vixen.
  3. Brings back memories, I once had a very nice pair of these. They were damaged beyond repair by one of my daughters when she was little, I should not have been so trusting with a 6 year old!
  4. Sometimes it just costs to have it right. I have discovered this over time and by buying many more times more than twice.
  5. Dale That looks quite complete for the scope you list, nice glass. I won't mention undercuts...ooops I just did🤣 A serious question, how do you get on with balance, that is all chunky glass? Oh and well done for not suggesting, this is my eyepiece set done...... it never washes in the end.
  6. Its like a 27 mm Panoptic that it replaces, but with no undercut (Hurrah) and longer eye relief and cheaper new than a used Panoptic. So usable with glasses. Only used as a quick grab look last night at the Moon, which was a test of use with glasses, can see whole field. As to anything else, needs a clear night and a cooled scope, so will test ASAP and report back. Build quality is super, very simple and utilitarian, which I personally like.
  7. I recognised the ramp, have many friends in Hullbridge and spent a lot of time in the past on the river here too. I looked at Neowise just away from this spot at the next slipway along.
  8. and if not, it will amuse us all anyway 😂
  9. Music to my ears, music to my ears that is 👍
  10. That scope must be defective, no clouds, really? Please take a close look in the lower section of the box will you, no scope comes without clouds 😉 Nice portable scope, enjoy and good luck with the clear sky.
  11. Its similar to a Panoptic 27 mm but a little taller.
  12. Well having tried the Morpheus and The APM UFF. I have purchased the 30 mm UFF and a 10 mm XW. Now for some more buying between and beyond.
  13. And to prove I am pleased here they are: APM 18 mm UFF APM 30 mm UFF
  14. Postie has just been and the much awaited 30 mm has arrived. Looks like it will work well with glasses on, purchase based on many positive views of this APM item and my ownership of the 18 mm already. All very utilitarian, including the plain white, but substantial box. Of course it brought clouds, sorry.
  15. Nice images and a very familiar view for me, I am an Essex boy too. Funnily got my first Neowise view from Hullbridge looking towards South Woodham a while back now.
  16. I have never thought of Mark as mean 😂 but he might lean at an angle
  17. That's a very helpful link Rob, thank you. Sadly feeds my desire for an AZ100 still!
  18. Thread revival, what a great technique. I will try this on the next cloud free night, I like simple, I like free 😀
  19. Thanks @Space Hopper, so your sold on the DSC and Astro Devices, which is good. How then is the Nexus DSC unit working after some use and what sold you on it rather than the Nexus unit?
  20. @Space Hopper do you still have the dob and this set up. I would be interested in this as I am talking to Serge on one for my oouk od250 dob at present.
  21. Yep, the clouds know your movements....
  22. My Arthritic Knees. They annoy me a lot now, especially when they behave on cloudy nights and when I don’t have time to observe, but the moment on the rare nights it’s clear and steady, oh boy do they decide to play me up!
  23. I promised myself I would set this running and not comment, but oh heck, why not... Dave that is not just annoying, but clearly delusional on the part of the person saying it 😂
  24. My kind of answer, it is the exact answer to the question asked 🤣
