  1. Well done, you should be pleased to get a result like that at the beginning of your planetary imaging journey. Peter
  2. You have captured some lovely detail there. Peter
  3. Very good image. Yes polar cap shrinking fast now. Peter
  4. Very good. Love the blue colour of the North Polar Hood. Peter
  5. Seeing was poor with fast moving jetstream across the image. Software again worked wonders to get anything recognisable. Tharsis volcanos prominent with a bright cloud nearby on left visible in the colour images. Peter
  6. Fantastic first Mars of the season. Well done Peter
  7. Good effort, worth getting up for. Peter
  8. Great work Pete. The polar cap is tricky to deal with, so don't worry. Hard to control while bringing out the surface details. Peter
  9. GRS on show, poor seeing conditions with only a short period when any detail was visible. Peter
  10. Good effort considering the poor seeing last night. Peter
  11. The hot sultry conditions gave some good views of Jupiter. Took advantage of poor weather here to reprocess the data and have I think produced a better result than my earlier post. Colour balance is better and the overall result is smoother for the level of sharpening. Hope you agree. Peter
  12. Interesting, two lovely mages. You can see the beneficial effect of Saturn being much higher in the sky in 2013. Peter
  13. You can recombine the colour channels in Autostakkert when processing which works quite well. Never as good as full ADC functionality though. Peter
  14. Yes, but it has run out of adjustment with the planets at this very low altitude. It's not possible to bring red and blue completely to the same focus but it significantly reduces the effect. There are things you can do like increasing the distance between ADC and camera to the prisms have a greater effect. However at f/22 on a C14 Jupiter is huge already. It's most effective above 20 degs I would say. Peter
  15. The hot sultry conditions gave some good views of Saturn. Here is an IR luminance - Colour image showing some nice detail in the belts and polar region. Peter
  16. The hot sultry conditions gave a lazy boiling appearance to Jupiter with some good detail visible beneath. Autostakkert and Registax did their magic and produced a reasonable result for 17 degs altitude. GRS and Callisto's shadow prominent. Peter
  17. Another image from the night of 6th August. GRS and oval BA prominent as is the GRS hollow pushing into the SEB. Peter
  18. Great progress over the past 4 years especially when you realise that Saturn was much higher in the sky then. Peter
  19. Very nice result. I have found that also with the seeing on Saturn better than Jupiter despite the almost same altitude. Peter
