  1. Here are some images of Jupiter and Saturn under reasonable seeing for the UK at 19 degs. Saturn is shown as a colour image and also using IR as luminence.
  2. Excellent images. I notice that your colour image is much better than mine compared to the IR. Your colour is almost as good as the IR whereas my colour is a mush and only gets detail when I use IR as a luminence channel. Peter
  3. We had an evening of reasonable seeing at last in Sussex UK on 12th July. Slowly rippling but with detail visible on the capture screen. Here are images of Jupiter and Saturn. Peter
  4. Very good for the aperture and altitude Peter
  5. Taken at 2am Nikon DSLR 135mm lens 3 sec ISO1600 x 10 stacked in DSS, static on a tripod. Beautiful sight a bright naked eye comet at last, wonderful in 7x50 bins. Peter
  6. Great images, both are tough targets this year at about 16 degs altitude. Peter
  7. Well done, a great first image. Jupiter is a tough target from northern latitudes this year. Peter
  8. Excellent images, especially Jupiter. Well done Peter
  9. Worth the effort. Well done. Peter
  10. Very impressive. You must have been up half the night? Peter
  11. Poor seeing can cause bloated stars, not much you can do about that. Peter
  12. Superb work, my favorite is NGC 3953, wonderful detail. Peter
  13. I use a ZWO ASI224MC colour cam and Televue barlow. I can recommend them as a combination. With the low altitude from the UK you need an ADC with a colour cam. Peter
  14. That's quite an improvement. Very good for 60x60s. Peter
  15. Great effort! Well done for capturing some good detail on Jupiter from the UK and for getting up so early! Peter
  16. Hi Neil Thanks. It's been a while since I saw you on SGL. Are you still in the game? Best wishes Peter
  17. Well done, a promise of things to come later this summer. Great dedication to capture these so early in the season. I think more frames captured would help smooth out the images. I always capture about 10,000 frames and use about 25-40% Peter
  18. Mercury and Venus images this afternoon. Venus is showing extended cusps beyond 180 degs. Mercury is at 50% phase and 8x smaller than Venus . Peter
  19. Seeing was poor in the afternoon, so bad I struggled to find a focus therefore no surprise that I couldn't resolve any details on Mercury. Venus looked beautiful through the eyepiece prior to imaging. Mercury is so small in comparison 6" vs 55" dia for Venus. Peter
