  1. Looking at images shared from seestar S50 data they are great. It's quite amazing really what it produces, the tracking looks quite consistent too.
  2. well done, enjoy seeing all the different processes, and great data to use
  3. I adapted the original rings that came with my 50ED
  4. welcome in that price range and what you've shared my thought would be https://www.firstlightoptics.com/beginner-telescopes/sky-watcher-starquest-102r-f49-achromatic-refractor-telescope.html the ST102 I've seen used as a EEA telescope, it gives great wide field views and I expect can see the main belts on Jupiter though some chromatic aberration on the edge as a very bright planet. The tripod can be used in equatorial and I gather altaz mode too, plus there is a motor that can be bought to give basic tracking in EQ on one axis. Bang for buck aperture size is going to be a reflector on a manual mount but the best telescope is the one that get's used. Often the f5 reflectors like what you are returning do not reach focus with a mirrored camera (not sure on mirorless) as there is not enough inward focuser travel. There might be frustrations with the tripod but the ST102 telescope can be used on other astro mounts if the hobby grows. What ever you decide I find it's about working within what I have. AstroLaVista has some easy watch videos on different starting telescopes and what you might do with them worth reading looking understanding more before making a choice. The seestar does do quite amazing images looking at uploads Another thought if you already have camera and numerous lenses put the budget to a mount only. Something like the the skywacther az-gti on a sturdy photo tripod you might already have and use in altaz mode to start with. 'IF' you can get your camera to work with sharpcap that opens up live stacking to share with family. I suggested that mount as could take a telescope later for visual use (if within size/weight limitations). I think could start investigating what your camera could do now and what it's compatible with.
  5. You know it's cold when your non cooled astro camera when in use only read 8.1 C° last night but it was clear skies!!
  6. Lovely to read that, super
  7. I like Aurora watch UK, there are two apps their display flavor differs, install both see which you prefer
  8. It's freeing to make changes that keep your hobby alive for you. There are lots of possibilities I enjoy capturing meteors inside through double glazing not ideal I'm told but it works for me. Good luck with your observing
  9. There is lots of helpful info on this by member sharkmelley I think covering same thing
  10. There is an unofficial manual on the startools download page, though module use pages which are in the startools forum are very good too
  11. It's in the guide linked above, but first before twiddling any adjustments on your telescope I'd check your laser collimator is true
  12. Key things level mount and telescope is horizontal and the open/glass end faces north and telescope is mounted on the left side of your az-gti
  13. I like using 1 star alignment for several reasons 1- in my limited viewing angles I can choose which star I think should be visible 2- the mount will slew to where it thinks the star selected is 3- I can repeat the one star alignment as many times as I like using different stars to increase the mount's alignment accuracy
  14. Possibly if it too uses a diagonal with an eyepiece. While waiting for any part to arrive can use the camera on the diagonal if your nighti is clear
  15. For now quick fix leave everything wasil is just rotate your telescope 180°
  16. The orientation of the telescope is facing wrong way on az firmware. The az-gti needs to look like a welly boot with the telescope on left side of the leg and the telescope pointing north and level
  17. New is az firmware so left mounted
  18. Az firmware O[__ Eq firmware __]O O = telescope facing North and level (no wedge) __] = az-gti
  19. What firmware is on your az-gti?
  20. Your image shows right sided mounted assuming telescope is pointing north you'll need the eq firmware for that. Left sided mounted mounting for as shipped firmware (or az firmware) Even if using eq firmware in altaz mode telescope still needs to be right sided mounting.
  21. I have for what I have tried on win11 PC has wifi the following connection routine works. PC has latest skywatcher Ascom driver 140 and sharpcap 4.1 pro. Have a successful evening order connected using synscan dongle to az-gti (the dongle I already have has stronger wifi for me) telescope was facing north level and horizontal, turn on az-gti 1- connect PC wifi to az-gti 2- connect mobile phone wifi (needed I understand) 3- start mobile synscan pro app and connect I did a one star alignment crudely 4- on pc start ascom and connect 5- start phd2 and connect mount etc. (if using pdh2) 6- start sharpcap and connect 7- start stellarium and connect (if using) every thing is connecting and staying connected
  22. Where you using the C6 on eq or altaz mode though What bortle skies are you please @choppies ?
  23. Welcome Things to consider are where will the telescope and mount be stored and are there stairs between storage and observing location? Probability and weight are quite personal considerations when choosing. Also things to consider like will I need a table to put the telescope on or a chair to sit on. The best telescope is the one you'll use which might not be the biggest one for your circumstances
