  1. I have setup Anydesk on my shed pc I can remotely access with my laptop all seems to work fine better and easier than other software I have used to remotely connect , I keep loosing connection I have unticked direct connection, Anydesk Soloution for dropped connection ,listening port 7070 same on both computers, my bullguard firewall has Anydesk allowed but disabling firewall seems to fix the problem, does anyone know how I can fix this problem, not a major problem as I can disable firewall when imaging but if there is a Soloution that can fix it then that will better .
  2. I asked Rupert some questions regarding my Tecnosky 70q emailed back quickly I bought used off rob aka @Space Hopper rob has used Rupert a few times I’m sure rob will tell you more.
  3. Good start , I used Nikon d5300 and use a usb power adapter off Ali express you can hook it up to a power bank needs 3amp though , recommended iso is 200 for this model as it’s iso invariant and I process in Startools
  4. Nice image ,blue stars the down side of a LPS i get the same with idas D2
  5. Had a play last night and I think your approach will work better for me , in that leaving the pc on will keep damp at bay , certainly a lot simpler than Tv and Remote Desktop to setup all seems to work will see how i get on with it maybe wake on lan in future if need be .
  6. Help needed please I have my sons old Alienware Alpha pc with the intention of installing in shed this has usb3 ports so will run my incoming qhy290mm now previously I used two laptops using team viewer to log on to shed laptop from house , is it possible so to set shed pc up so I can wake up and log on from laptop in house ,(both systems running win10) without having to run between pc to input passwords ,the shed has internet via power line adapter , if so how do I do ,it is it a hard task to setup . Dave
  7. Went for the 290mm higher FPS and will work well on the qhy miniguide scope after talking to Bern at modern astronomy.
  8. If you had to choose between one of the cameras what would be the camera of choice QHY5III178 or QHY5III290 ? to be used for planetary and guiding though currently using qhy5l-11c though had that for quite a few years how long it will last though ?.
  9. There is always apt/indigo sky via pi4 if your running ccd cameras , dslr comparability via Apt yet to be released hopefully in the next update .
  10. That is sad news i used to follow Andrew on Twitter a few years back condolences to his family .
  11. Anyone using the qhy 178mm for guiding and imaging ,https://www.modernastronomy.com/shop/cameras/lunar-planetary/qhy-lunar-planetary/qhy5-iii-178-mono/ or maybe Altair Astro https://www.altairastro.com/Altair-GPCAM3-178M-Astronomy-Imaging-Camera.html anyone using altair camers ,what are your thoughts on AA cameras /software drivers etc .
  12. Looking at a mono camera namely a zwo https://www.firstlightoptics.com/zwo-cameras/zwo-asi290mm-mini-usb-2-mono-camera.html so the slimline version USB2 or do I wait and get the next one up usb3 but not slimline https://www.firstlightoptics.com/zwo-cameras/zwo-asi178mm-usb-3-mono-camera.htmlI do have an Alienware mini pc in loft waiting so potentially I could use this and install in shed and use only for Astro and team view to this to take advantage of usb3 or use USB2 if used on laptop, I always like the better picture that’s possible with mono for planetary and more sensitive for guiding than the qhy5l-11 colour I have , and had that a few years now , thoughts peeps please .
  13. Tecnosky 70Q F5 nice little frac though only had the camera attached maybe one day have a 👀 though the eyepiece
  14. Stacked files using Siril used the script No Flats , file is a Fit file but if you want a Tiff then load fit in DSS and save as tiff ,saves having to download big files 🙂 Had a quick play in Startools, now all you need is to take Flats and you will see a difference with cleaner images note Siril invert image should have flipped it in Startools result.fit
  15. Thats a lovely image well done .
  16. From the album: DSO

Version 7 ,making use of the terrible weather ,after Richard Konrad whom is quite good with Startools had a play with my data ,i had another go this time i loaded rgb channels via composite mode in Startools after reading a comment by another user that they seemed to get more detail using that mode so gave a bash ,trying to bring out the brown Ha dust overall i feel a better process .
  17. I know af3 uses a different motor with finer 1/256 steps

  20. There’s always the Rowan zero backlash mod , https://www.firstlightoptics.com/belt-mod-kits/rowan-astronomy-zero-backlash-worm-mount-for-sky-watcher-neq6.html no reviews yet though but I’m sure top Quality.
  21. Re processed wasn't too happy with the greenish stars several iterations later seem to be getting there just more Data required if only the clouds would part ,same processing as before Startools 1.6 Alpha .
  22. Money doesn’t go far in this hobby and I would definitely look into used equipment ,90 percent of my kit is secondhand and tbh most astronomers look after their kit quite well .
