If anyone has clear skies tonight and a little time, could they check out NGC 3190. I swear I saw a star in the line of sight, so it looked like the star was embedded within the galaxy. The strange thing is, I can't find any reference to the star?

Climbing roof top after moon session and finder did 35m free fall on concrete. It's now on the desk in 5 individual parts.

4:30am! I've got work in the morning but just couldn't resist Jupiter, Saturn, Mars and the Moon! Great night and nothing strong coffee cannot fix :-)
-
Blazing hot day today. Eclipse is in progress. Really quite pretty :-)
-
At last summer is arriving. Cloudless, perfect skies night and day :-)
-
Amazing dark site session tonight. Rather amusingly, however, just about everything either frooze or dewed over; my glasses, the finder, scope's shroud, eyepieces and cases, my shoes, everything :-)

Good to be back. I promise to reply to all posts etc over the next day or so. I hope everyone had a good August :-)
-
Back for a day and then off again. Hope to catch up a little.

Jupiter and the Moon last night were delightful and oh boy, what a sun we have this morning...I'm roasting :-)
-
Wow! It's hot today. Perfect for the beach.

SNOWING!! Oh boy. Okay, I'm going to rub it in a little more :-) :-) Just been out setting up under deep dark blue skies, in a...wait for it...T--shirt :-) Already seen Venus, Mercury, & Mars set within a gorgeous orange sunset. Will wait until the skies are properly dark before I dip and duck and soar between the stars :-) Snowing you say, SNOWING!! Oh, boy :-)

In the last 12 nights 11 have been clear. Not winding up anyone, honest :-)

That's very true, Andy! The 1st and 2nd were patchy as JB80 noted, the 3rd was cloud covered and then bang! Big Moon for the rest of the week even though the skies were clear. What makes matters worse is that I can't start viewing till after midnight, so no quick sessions before the moon rises. Hopefully, this and next week will remain clear.

Back on line! It is late now, so I will write more tomorrow. It's good to be back :-)

Just back from the docs...broken toe :-)

Long session this evening. Packed up at 6pm and have just arrived home at 2.30am Absoluetly exhausted but buzzing from a nice dark site session.

Spetacular Evening.

72 hours of continuous rain and counting. Never seen anything like it! Only last week we were in the high sun-shining 20ºc's. Hopefully clear up in a few days but certainly winter has started with avengence.

My girlfriend isn't really one for space things, but she was suitably impressed with Hadfield's Space Oddity. She's singing along in that thick English accent only the Spanish know how to do. I'm rather impressed by her own rendition.

Warm evening out, around 16ºC. Really quite peaceful sitting under the ghostly light of a passing Jupiter and Moon.
-
Two big boxes are sitting in the hall waiting for me to wake up :-)
-
Best experience of Saturn this year. Sharp and complex at 300x :-) Sun in both WL & H-a is also rather handsome this morning. Going to the beach today but will try to make a little report with the drawings later. Happy Saturday everyone :-)
-
I think this is the worst weather I've experienced in over 2 years. We're already 12 days into the New Year. Not a single night out under the stars and I've only seen the Sun 5 times!! Absolute rubbish. Foggy all weekend and now it's tipping down :-(

Just a quick one to thank everyone here at SGL. I hope you all enjoy all the magic that this winter season brings x

Stephen Hawking is in Tenerife this week and they're just about to show his talk on prime time TV (translated, of course). Be back in an hour :-)

AZ4's just arrived. No clouds, yet....

Still grim in my part of Spain: 17 nights of heavy cloud...
