I have been researching (here a lot) and have decided to spend some of my tax return on a Skywatcher Explorer 150. I'm very excited to get started as I have been passionate about astronomy for a long time and want to get a good beginner scope that I can expand in the future and eventually use for some imaging as well. Happy to be starting in good company :)

Hi and welcome to the forum. You will discover participating in astronomy is great although you find that some parts are more 'taxing' than others - sorry couldn't resist!  :grin:

Good luck with the astrophotography and although it has a steep learning curve at the beginning, you will soon have your imaging 'rig' up and running in no time I'm sure!

Wow thanks everyone for all of the support. I have already gained a ton of knowledge from the members here while researching for a scope. Since I was asked, I am from a town in Indiana called Angola right up in the Northeast corner of the state. I live slightly outside town, with reasonably dark conditions in the back yard. I still have not ordered the scope and have already started looking in to modifying an old dome tent into a pop-up observatory. Excited :)

Hey guys, still doing research/considering/saving and I'm wondering if FLO ships to USA? I emailed them last week about this but have yet to hear back from them. If they do ship to USA does anyone know approximately what the shipping cost is for a scope?
