Hi Chris and welcome to SGL - There's masses of information on the forum to get you going. You could do worse than downloading a copy of Stellarium, an excellent and free planetarium programme that can help you find stuff. A pair of binoculars is a good starting place as well.

Look forward to seeing you around

Hi Chris and welcome to the forum. +1 for Stellarium as it is a very useful bit of kit to identify objects and to help you learn the night sky. Most important of all is to keep asking questions as there will always be someone who knows the answer and don't worry if your question seems a little basic as we all have to start somewhere as the daftest question is the one you don't ask!

Clear skies for now and hope you enjoy the forum  :icon_salut:
