  1. Thanks for the helpful comments guys. I'll be concentrating on my focusing and exposure next time. The focusing is my real bugbear. I think I need to have more patience! Thank you
  2. My planetary imaging attempts have only ever been amateur compared to the spectacular images posted on this forum. I thought it might be time to move on from my trusty Phillips webcam to a ZWO ASI120MC-S. Unfortunately I've been largely restricted to short observing sessions this summer, but recently I finally dropped the ZWO into my ED80 on a manual alt-az mount and winged it with the settings. Can't wait to try it with my mak
  3. +1 for the Baader zoom. I acquired mine a few months ago and it’s excellent for grab and go sessions when I don’t want to carry a case of eyepieces around. It was worth saving up for
  4. Hi, I’ve finally took the plunge and upgraded from my webcam to a ZWO ASI120MC-S. I’ve had a good trawl looking for settings to to get me started, but would appreciate it if anyone had settings which had worked for them, that they would be willing to share. I’m using SharpCap and imaging the moon and planets with a SkyMax 150. Many thanks
  5. Hi and welcome to the forum
  6. I treated myself to a pair with some Christmas money. They do a nice job

  10. I found my 5mm BST didn't get much use in my 130P, but the 8mm has. The following thread on selecting eyepieces from the beginners section is well worth a read: http://stargazerslounge.com/topic/43171-eyepieces-the-very-least-you-need/ [emoji4] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. I'm not sure I can compete with all this Gucci green and black, but here's my offering [emoji6]. Mainly ES 82s and a lonely Astro Hutech 7mm ortho. I'd like a 6mm and a 9mm to keep it company [emoji4]. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  16. Just a heads up that there are copies of The Cambridge Atlas of Herschel Objects going for 98p plus delivery on Amazon. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/0521138175/ref=tmm_other_meta_binding_new_olp_sr?ie=UTF8&condition=new&qid=&sr= Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. Download Stellarium http://www.stellarium.org/en_GB/. Set it up to your location. You can advance and rewind time on it, so it's great for planning sessions. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. It's landed [emoji41]. Thanks again guys. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. I'm a Mak fan too, but prefer EQ mounts. That probably makes me a little odd..... Sorry OP! Back to your new scope.
