M42 & Horshead (35mins only) SE London

Taken last month more as a test of FOV but only got very little data before it sank behind the trees. Wasn't going to bother to process it, but being at a loose end during the Coronavirus lockdown I decided to "give it a go". Atik460EX and Samyang 135mm F2 lens. Ha 600secs x 3 RGB 2 x 100secs each (unbinned as anything binned blew out the sensor with this fast lens). Total imaging time 35minutes

The horsehead is one of my "wishes" but without a tracking mount, it's just that!

Very nice work Carole.

Sadly Orion and the Horsehead, when at the right place in the sky, are hidden by trees in my garden. Also my sensor would probably be totally washed out by a bright streetlight in the path.

We had them pruned in January so might be able to have a go at the horsehead next year if I carefully reposition the scope and shielded it from that light.
