What did the postman bring?

I got a few items from FLO this week:

A quick release bracket for the finderscope on my TAK TSA-102 (https://www.firstlightoptics.com/adm-misc-mounting-accessories/adm-takahashi-quick-release-finder-bracket.html) which is really good.

An RST 135 with half pier: I realized my telescopes are all fairly light (with the heaviest being 8 kg) so have decided to try using a harmonic mount on an RT90C tripod. I could have waited for the ZWO version but with all the lock downs in China I can't see this being widely available for a while. If it all works out well I may put my Losmandy G11 up for sale in the not too distant future.

Just have to wait for some clear nights to try the new mount out.

More printed material through the letter box today, for double star observing courtesy of the Webb Deep Sky Society. The charts are tear proof & waterproof. The book has some excellent sketches and info for a good chunk of constellations.

A Baader Morpheus 12.5mil. I haven't bothered with a photo; I'm sure you all know what a Morpheus looks like.

Just given it first light on the moon - by chance, it frames the moon exactly in my scope. So far, great EP - well impressed.

An Astronomik OIII filter to go alongside the UHC filter.

P1060325.thumb.JPG.5ae4818faae998f1cde36390bee1c856.JPG

But will it be any better than the UHC filter in my 6" and smaller scopes? I can't wait to try it on the Veil Nebula later this year!

This wasn't available off the shelf from Bresser, so had to be ordered from Vixen in Japan. Only took 5 months and now my AP mount can transform into an APZ alt-az with electric drives, well worth waiting for.

Today after saving up £125 and buying it from 'The Widescreen Centre' I got Skywatcher's 3/8" Stainless Steel Tripod. This is for my budget deepsky astrophotography kit. :)

So you search for a frac high and low and then you find one packed away in its case , very securely stored , doing nothing , just asking for me to buy it !

And , of course today the weather has turned from lovely sunshine into clouds !    😕
