Hi, I'm Fred and I'm new to this site and am starting to take photos of the Moon and planets and need some help and reading some of the comments here I found the right place. I have a Celestron Nexstar 4se telescope and a Nikon d5100 DSLR  but I have many questions.  Fred

Hi Fred and welcome to SGL - You have come to the right place for sure. There's a lot of people doing similar to you, so have a browse of the imaging section and enjoy!

Look forward to seeing you around :)

You are definitely in the right place Fred, welcome and ask away. Just don't buy any new astro toys - that's a sure way to guarantee rain clouds for at least two weeks. You can only shake that jinx by posting an apology with accompanying photographs of your shiny new toys.:happy7:

Hi Fred, Welcome to SGL. I also have a Nikon D5100 and it's a brilliant astro DSLR.

I'm trying to figure out how to use the wireless remote control with the D1500 in manual mode attached to my telescope to eliminate camera shake when taking Moon photos.   Fred

You need to change the release mode to quick-response remote.
