Hello from the Ozarks

Hi everyone, I'm glad I found this site since I'm starting from zero knowledge of telescopes.  I'm a D*mn Yankee living in the Arkansas Ozarks for the last 20 years.  I have always had an interest in astronomy but have never pursued It.  The other night I was looking at the stars and decided I needed a telescope to take advantage of our clear skies.
